Sebastien Melki
I build software and play music. I'm currently working at Sarwa in the engineering department. Previously I spent nearly a decade at Anghami/OSN+ where I collaborated on many fun projects.
In parallel, music is a big part of my life. Currently I am working with Shakoosh and AÏA.
About
I love taking creative ideas and making them a reality. The messy middle is the fun part. Most of what I make starts as a weekend curiosity and ends up either in production, in the open, or quietly archived as a useful lesson.
Studied computer engineering at McGill. Originally from Lebanon. Most of what I publish ends up on GitHub.
Projects
- worldmonitor live
Real-time global intelligence dashboard. News, markets, commodities, supply chains, conflicts, and more, synthesized with AI into one situational-awareness view. Started as a weekend project, turned into one of the most-starred dashboards on GitHub.
- sebuf oss
A Go toolkit that turns Protobuf definitions into fully-typed HTTP APIs. Handlers, validation, OpenAPI docs, and client SDKs, all generated. Designed for small, dependency-light services that still feel rigorous.
- alpaca-go oss
Go SDK for the Alpaca Trading API, generated from sebuf contracts. Built to scratch my own itch around algorithmic trading experiments.
